Oceans 12 Review

Saw Ocean’s 12 last night with about 10 other LanSmash crew and even Sunset!
Had great seats in the Imax cinema and it turned out it was a full house.

The movie opened up with a bang, still having that 70′s touch and a little flair. The big bad dude from the Bellagio is back and finds each of the original Ocean’s 11 , telling them they have two weeks to return the money they stole with interest.

So the teams back and head oversea’s to steal enough cash to pay back, with interest. The style of the movie is very similar to Ocean’s 11 with a little more ‘unsteady cam’ and a lot more ‘artistic shots’. It binds well though, I found the cinematography was great and well polished.

In the end though, I thought they fitted too much into the one movie. Like Ocean’s 11 you won’t know all the tricks until five minutes till the curtains draw. Except this time you won’t have a freaking clue what has ‘happened’ in the movie until the ending.

It’s a twisted movie trying to grab some of that ‘here’s how we done it’ magic. It comes out as a rather dull movie. I was relieved when the movie finally finished. I bet it was a lot of fun for the actors who played in it, but maybe a little too obnoxious behaviour for the rest of us.

To the movie’s credit there are a few choice humour scenes, and even a few action ones. Though I was disapointed that the chinese ‘grease monkey’ guy never get to flip out like the last movie.

So an entertaining movie, but it’s no Oceans 11, especially the original 1960′s movie.

    Thanks Joseph, I am indeed being hit with Spam bots and they are quite annoying.

    I’ve done a few things to try and keep them away, but I think it’s time for a little more work on the anti spam rules with wordpress.

    WHAT KIND OF SAD PERSON ARE YOU. WHO FINDS OCEANS 12 ENTERTAINING, MY F***ING GOD. honestly that was the biggest waste of 10 bucks, that movie has only one honour in my books – it is the only movie that was that poor and boring i went up to the front desk at the cinema and asked for a refund. it was poor quality filming, bad acting, boring storyline, not funny and had no exciting parts whatsoever. everyone i know who has seen the movie agrees with me and i urge anyone thinking to see it not to. it is absolutely nothing like oceans 11. go see team america instead, funniest movie ever.

    I have to agree with flying dutchman. It was one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. The story did not really make sense. Most of the caracters where not even needed, maybe that’s why they spent big parts of the movie in prison. The part where Julia Roberts plays herself was plainly embarassing! A big waste of time and money to see this film. A lot of stars don’t make a good movie as was proved here!

    Look, I just loved Oceans 11 like anything. So perhaps my expectations were overly high but really, the film does’t even really have a start-
    ing point ie credits to hang disbelief upon.
    The little fun in this film, and I do mean little are just overplayed
    bits that in the original were underplayed. Not that it’s going to stop anyone going, because the macine is in motion. And I certainly
    still would have gone, reading a couple of bad reviews. In the end I
    purchased luxury seats and lay back for that dream to unfold instead
    a lisless thing/creature riddled across the screen for two long and pointless hours.
    In the words of an old friend, “It deserved the clap, that it got”.
    Not since “Eyes wide shut” have I been so gut renchingly disappoined
