Australia Day

Comments

Had an awesome day on Australia day spending the afternoon and listing to the Triple J Hottest 100 at Shado’s” house. Hillarity ensued as we attempted to have lots of pyrimads stacking in the pool.

BDO 2006

Comments

Was a big day out I had a ton of fun, especially with all the LS people abound to run into and hang out with.

That’s a photo of most of the LS people we had at any one time on the day. There were another four (Cutty + Partner and Thunderchild + Partner), but you get the drift.

Highlights of the day for me included smacking huge Gerling balls in the air, watching people fall over, viewing text messages by Virgin, cold slurpee’s and watching dudes play with electricity.

The text messages on the Virgin mobile screen were always a good laugh; here are some sayings that I can recall.
- My blader is busting!
- To the guy I f***** last time at the BDO, your Son is doing fine without you!
- Franger, your Mum’s ya Dad!
- Oh Rly?
- George Foreman has no fingerprints
- Super Mario Bros rules!!

Props to V drink for provding the awesome water/bubble tent tunnel to allow for quick refreshing chilling out… Nothing like a quick breezy rain-like fall to get you back in the game! And also thanks to the team of carers running around with water packs on their back cooling the horde of sweaty smelly people.

I think Sonic Animation had the most energy in all the bands I saw, of course everyone will have their own view’s and there were indeed a lot of cool bands on the day; my money was on these guys though and they delivered.

Cara was challenged to a ride on the Slingshot from her Guildy, however when they lined up to go towards the end of the night they were denied access due to too many people wanting to go on. So instead they went on some twirly octopuse thing. Whilst they were doing that I walked around with Cara’s friends girlfriend and managed to get a peak of two dudes jumping on huge tesla coils and firing electricity at each other.

It’s kinda hard to make out in the photo, but there wearing some metalic suits acting as faraday cages I suppose.

Here are some photo’s I took on the day (note two pages worth). Oh and next time I’m going to travel lighter and not take a man bag.

Christmas card’s – the plot thickens.

Comments

Ok perhaps I should be a little more current with my posts… I’ll make an effort for 2006!

I was doing some work for a client last year before Christmas and showed him the photo that my Grandfather took of the Australian looking pond… He sort of jumped and said ‘I’ve seen that before!’. I was in disbelief and thought he had lost his marbles, until he called his wife to produce this…

It’s a Christmas card, using the cropped photo of my Grandfather’s shot… from my website! The cropped photo matches identically and after talking with my Grandfather (aka G.O.D. – gumpy old day) we had come to the conclusion that the Carrington RSL had ripped the image of my blog no less then 3 days after I posted it.

I didn’t know so many people visited this site!
