Midnight Juggernauts at the Zoo
I was worried I wasn’t going to see the Midnight Juggernauts live this year, but luckily I found out they started their tour at the Zoo in the valley! Since I was going alone it was also my first time to a show riding my motorbike. Sure beats paying for a car park!
The jugglenauts were so much fun, and their sets were smooth. I’ve only heard a few of their tracks before seeing them live so I had a bit of an open mind. I’m a big fan of the Presets and after hearing the juggies on Triple J I thought I’d found a similar band… and I wasn’t disappointed!
Perhaps it was because I dead sober and had a minor ear infection that I was a little bit down on energy… or it could have been the barely-eighteen smashed guys jumping and crashing on my head that dragged me down. Still I stayed for the whole set and didn’t drift much further away from the front stage.
Luckily I had enough room to whip out my trusty N70 and record a few memento’s of the night. Check it out and note the ton of guys jumping on the stage with the juggies, go-go Zoo security!
Oh and their website seems to be down, but their myspace page is still up.
introducing LS Arena!
It gives me great pride to announce the largest LAN party LanSmash has seen yet, LS Arena! It’s a 300 player LAN party held in Brisbane on the 14th of July 2007.
I’ve had to keep this a secret now for months as myself whilst the LS admin team have been toiling away and plotting to make this a reality.
With the new massive LAN we’ve also had a new website update! Thanks to Misscara for the much needed redesign and Steve for implementing it. It’s quite cool actually, using Dokuwiki for most of the content, Vanilla for the forums and commenting, Gallery2 for the photos, JQuery for some fancy ajax, Sphider for the search engine, and a single theme engine that ties it all together.
Oh and of course Apache2, thank you modrewrite for allowing us to keep all those old links working from years of previous content!
We’re still keeping the monthly LAN going as it has been for the past 7 years, but I personally see events like LS Arena as the future for LanSmash. It’s going to be difficult, challenging but damn exciting. Can’t wait till the 14th of July!
