With plans of a winery outing foiled we decided to take Dad for a bit of a thrill ride jumping on a 600 horse powered jet boat and doing a few spins around the Gold Coast.

Not having any seat belts, or having to wear life jackets made the experience a free one. Being able to stand up and have a look around was great, not that you’d want to speeding up to 80km/h with a crazy driver.


It has to be one of the smoothest boat rides I’ve ever had, and yes we didn’t go on open water but even with the wakes of rather large boats the jetboat smoothly.

Would I do it again? Probably. Definately no drinking the night before though.
